M. concinna. Tibet, Sichuan and Yunnan. This was M. lancifolia ssp concinna but also perhaps var. solitarifolia. Taylor again lumped this into M. lancifolia as a variety. It is a dwarf plant (less than 15cms) from high altitudes with large deep blue or purple flowers often singly on basal scapes. The leaves are dark green, sometimes with a purple flush, and may be pinnately lobed or simple.

Photo Information : Photographed Da Xue Shan, 4,800m.
